The meeting will be held Thursday, January 13, 2011 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in the Vallejo City Council Chambers at 555 Santa Clara Street.
The Ferry Repower Project for the vessels INTINTOLI and MAREISLAND has begun, the INTINTOLI has been removed from service in preparation for ocean transit to Washington. The project is expected to complete in February 2012. These vessels are now in their 13th year of operation. The vessels have an economic life of 25 years and they have come due for a mid-life repower and refurbishment.
The City and the Water Emergency Transportation Authority are pursuing a charter agreement for the vessel SCORPIO that will be used to augment the Vallejo fleet while the INTINTOLI, and later the MARE ISLAND are away for repower.
On Friday, December 17th the City conducted trial trips from San Francisco and Vallejoto prove the travel times and to check compatibility with Vallejo ferry infrastructure. It has been determined that the travel time will be on the order of 1 hour and 15 minutes versus the 1 hour transit time for Vallejo vessels. The increased travel time required changes to the existing Baylink schedule.
All members of the public are encouraged to attend. Transportation Staff will be available to answer questions. If you are unable to attend this forum but would like to submit your comments go to www.baylinkferry.com
