Terminal

The Larkspur Ferry terminal, also known as Larkspur Landing, was designed by architect Jacques de Brer and constructed in the mid-1970s. It officially opened on December 11, 1976. It is 18,000 square feet and was built where Hutchinson’s Rock Quarry once stood.

Directions

By Car

If traveling or commuting by car from north of Larkspur:

  1. Travel south on Highway 101
  2. Take exit 450B for San Anselmo/Sir Francis Drake Blvd
  3. Go left at the fork and follow signs for East Sir Francis Drake Blvd
  4. Turn left on Sir Francis Drake Blvd.
  5. Pass under the freeway
  6. Larkspur ferry terminal will be on your right

If traveling or commuting by car from south of Larkspur:

  1. Travel north on Highway 101
  2. Take exit 450B for Richmond Bridge
  3. Merge onto East Sir Francis Drake Blvd.
  4. Larkspur ferry terminal will be on your right

By Bus

If you’re commuting by bus, the following routes operated by Golden Gate Transit provide bus service to the Larkspur ferry terminal:

  • Route 130: San Rafael – San Francisco
  • Route 132: San Anselmo – San Francisco
  • Route 150: Novato – San Francisco

All 3 routes stop at the Lucky Dr. bus pad. From there, you will need to walk approximately 1 mile along a shared-use path to reach Larkspur Landing.

If you are traveling by Golden Gate Transit bus to the terminal, you can transfer to the ferry one of two ways.

If you are paying a cash bus fare, pay the full transbay fare and tell the driver your destination is the ferry. They will issue you a paper transfer slip which you will present to the agent at the ferry terminal.

If paying your bus fare by Clipper Card, you will just tag on and off the bus as you normally would. And then tag on to the ferry where the transfer will be automatically applied.

By Train

SMART, short for Sonoma-Marin Area Rail Transit, provides train service from Sonoma County Airport down to the Larkspur Ferry.

Once arriving near the terminal, you’ll need to walk approximately 10-15 minutes until you reach Larkspur Landing. Please reference the map below for the preferred walking route to the terminal.

Amenities

Larkspur Landing has the following amenities and features available to customers of the ferry.

  • Nine bike racks inside the paid waiting area that can accommodate 80 bikes
  • 30 U-shaped bike racks outside the paid waiting area that can accommodate 60 bikes
  • 1,800 parking spaces in the main parking lot
  • 200 additional spaces in the overflow parking lot
  • Wheelchair accessible

Parking

There are two parking lots located at, or near, Larkspur Landing reserved specifically for Larkspur ferry passengers and customers.

The primary lot located at the terminal has 1,800 available spaces with 30 carpool/HOV dedicated spaces, 28 spaces for persons with disabilities, and 2 spaces for electric vehicles. The electric vehicle spaces with charging stations are reserved for EVs until 11:00 AM daily. After 11:00 AM, if the spots are open, any car may park in them even if not an electric vehicle.

The overflow lot, located at 300 Larkspur Landing Circle (former Marin Airporter lot), contains an additional 200 parking spots.

Please be aware that all spaces are available on a first-come, first-served basis and parking is only valid for a 24-hour period. After 24 hours, you must move your vehicle or risk fines and/or towing.
