UPDATED: Construction near Larkspur Ferry Terminal will CLOSE several crosswalks – use pedestrian detour

Beginning Wednesday, MARCH 7, the City of Larkspur’s ongoing roadway construction work on East Sir Francis Drake Blvd will move west to the intersection with Larkspur Landing Circle, directly across from the entrance to the Golden Gate Larkspur Ferry Terminal. Construction will require the closure of the heavily traveled pedestrian crosswalks between the Ferry Terminal and overflow parking lot for about 6 to 8 weeks. A pedestrian detour will be in place for ferry riders walking between the terminal and the overflow lot via the Marin Country Mart shopping center and the pedestrian overbridge. Ferry riders should allow extra time as the detour is expected to add about 3 to 4 minutes of walking time.

Golden Gate Ferry and the City of Larkspur apologize for any inconvenience to ferry passengers.

The construction project will shorten crosswalks and create bulb-outs for added pedestrian safety. The project will also reconfigure the way motorists and pedestrians access the Larkspur Ferry overflow lot. The driveway into the overflow lot from Victoria Way will be closed, leaving the driveway from Larkspur Landing Circle as the only entry/exit point for vehicles and pedestrians.
