Muni Eliminiates Free Transfers for GGF Customers Effective April 1

by admin on March 22, 2010

Several months ago the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Authority (Muni) initiated a change to eliminate free round trip Muni transfers currently offered to Golden Gate Ferry riders. This change was initiated to create a more equitable and consistent policy across all transit operators that link with Muni.

Beginning Thursday, April 1, 2010, a new fare agreement will take effect for customers traveling between Golden Gate Transit bus or Golden Gate Ferry and Muni as follows:

  • Adult TransLink customers transferring from GGT or GGF to Muni will receive a 50-cent credit on their Muni TransLink fare (excludes Muni Period Pass and cash-paying customers);
  • TransLink customers transferring from Muni to GGT or GGF will receive a fare credit (50-cents for adults, 25-cents for youth/seniors/disabled) on their Golden Gate TransLink fare (excludes Muni Fast Pass TransLink and cash-paying customers).

For more information, please visit www.goldengate.org or call 511 (say “Golden Gate Transit,” then “Operator” to bypass recorded messages)/TDD 711.
