dscn5726 The following is a notice from the Blue & Gold Fleets regarding their Tiburon Ferry service and the sale of the ferry Zelinski. You can read the on-line posting here.

ZELINSKY Update

To Our Valued Tiburon Customers;

I want to take this opportunity to update our commute riders on the Tiburon service, and the status of the ZELINKSY.

As you may know, the ZELINSKY has been for sale since spring 2016, when we entered into an agreement with the Golden Gate Bridge District to assume the Tiburon commute service. The District will be using its own boats on the Tiburon commute, and thus the ZELINSKY is no longer needed. She has served all of us well, for more than 26 years.

As the ZELINSKY transfers to new owners, and until Golden Gate assumes responsibility for the Tiburon commute, service will take place on WETA/SF Bay Ferry vessels when available (the faster, Gemini-class boats), or the BAY MONARCH. We know the MONARCH adds a few minutes to your commute, and we will do our utmost to provide the faster boats when we can.

The transfer of the Tiburon commute to the Golden Gate Bridge District is progressing smoothly. As of today, almost all issues are resolved, and we are hopeful the transition can be accomplished by the end of this month. We will keep you informed as we get closer to a firm transition date.

Thank you for your patronage, support, and understanding as we work through the final details of the transfer of the Tiburon commute service to Golden Gate.
