On July 12, 2013, the Golden Gate Bridge, Highway and Transportation District Board of Directors approved the following initiatives aimed at improving services for Larkspur Ferry customers:
- Added 7:30 am weekday trip to San Francisco as a 9-month demonstration project from Sept. 3 through June 2014. Golden Gate Ferry began running this trip in June while the Larkspur berth was under repair, and for continuity, will continue to operate the trip through to the Sept. 3 demonstration project start date.
- Dedicated weekday Larkspur Ferry shuttle bus route during commute hours connecting the Ross Valley/Sir Francis Drake corridor with the Larkspur Terminal as a 9-month demonstration project from Sept. 3 through June 2014.
