Alameda To Replace Harbor Bay Dock

by admin on December 8, 2010

This is a special service announcement from the Alameda Harbor Bay Ferry Service.

This weekend, the City of Alameda will install a new docking barge at the Harbor Bay ferry terminal, weather permitting. The new dock will replace an existing dock that has been in service since 1992. The two-day installation is not expected to affect ferry operations, as there is no weekend service on the Alameda Harbor Bay Ferry. However, there is a possibility that an unforeseen problem could affect the Monday morning commute. If that were to occur, the City would, by noon on Sunday, notify HB ferry riders. That notification would occur in two ways: first, via the Voice Message Alert System (VMAS) and, secondly, via a post on the www.eastbayferry.com HB site. These notices will only be made if the Monday morning commute service will be disrupted.
